Leonids 2001 personal report I drove several hours to west Texas, several miles southeast of Pecos as it turned out. In spite of fog in the area (as well as cars starting to drive by) that induced me to quit by 5:30 a.m., somewhat early, I was able to count 1113 Leonids and 26 non-Leonids in a little less than two hours. They certainly were worth the trip, but I sure did get tired as well as exasperated by the weather.
