Memorial Service - November 17, 2007 It is with deep sadness we mourn the passing of Professor Robert L. Dawson, who died June 4, 2007, in Paris, France, at the age of 63. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00pm, Saturday, November 17th in the Protho Theater at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. Robert Darnton to deliver 2008 Pforzheimer Lecture in memory of Dr. Robert L. Dawson Historian and leading expert on Eighteenth Century France, Dr. Robert Darnton of Harvard, formerly of Princeton, will deliver the 2008 Pforzheimer Lecture on February 7, 2008, in the Protho Theater in the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. This year's lecture will be in memory of French professor Dr. Robert L. Dawson, who passed away June 4, 2007. Opening of the Robert Dawson French Collection at Texas A&M University Dr. Robert Darnton will also deliver a lecture at the opening of the Robert Dawson French Collection at A&M on February 8, 2008. This event will be held at 4:00pm in the Mayo-Thomas Room at the Cushing Library. More information can be found here.
