Can I take courses posted on WLH for free?
Courses on WLH are offered for credit only through their accredited universities, distance learning programs, or online degrees programs; their link to WLH is strictly as free courseware. It doesn't cost anything to browse WLH or link to any of the sites posted on WLH, but WLH provides a free service for reference and not credit. If interested in cost, enrollment or credit concerning a course, contact the administrator or professor of the particular course site, or visit WLH's useful links page for more information about online courses. top

What sort of courses are posted on WLH?
WLH contains links to course materials for university-level courses. Some, though not all, of these courses are offered entirely over the Internet. Some, though not all, offer college credit through distance learning. All are courses offered at accredited colleges and universities around the world, and all course materials reachable through WLH are free and publicly available. top

What does WLH cost?
WLH is completely free to anyone anywhere in the world. top

How do I submit a course to WLH?

How do I change a URL for a previously submitted course?
Send an e-mail with the relevant information, including the previous and new URLs. top

Is World Lecture Hall a search engine?
In a sense. World Lecture Hall maintains a database of university-level course materials freely available over the Internet. WLH also maintains a search engine to find courses or materials for the public. top

I have a question about the content of one of the courses I found through WLH. Who can I ask?
WLH does not administer or contribute content to any of the course materials indexed in our database. Any content-specific questions could be addressed to the author of the site in question, whose e-mail in most cases can be found on that site. top

Do I have to log on to WLH?
No. You can browse, view, use, and search for course materials through WLH without having to log on. top

Does WLH offer home schooling?
WLH is a free service, acting as a clearinghouse to locate university course materials that have been put online. It does not actually administer any courses associated with those materials. WLH focuses on higher education, but the useful links section does have some sites that may be of use to you. top

What is WLH's privacy policy, and what does WLH do with my personal information?
World Lecture Hall does not publish or use any email or personal information, except for the following:

  • Course authors' names and institutional affiliates are displayed in the results pages of the Advanced Search, Browse by Area and Find a Course utilities.
  • WLH will contact course authors via email with information about new features to the Web site; to inform authors when their pages have flaws or their links no longer work; and to petition course authors to submit new course pages and suggestions to WLH.

WLH does not and will not share email or any other personal information with third parties. top

How much does it cost to take a WLH course?
WLH is a free service: it is a clearinghouse to locate univesity course materials that have been put online, but does not administer any courses associated with those materials. Questions about enrollment, fees and the like should be directed to the administrator of a specific course at the published URL. top

I am a high school student, and have been helping design a course Web page for one of my classes. May I submit it to WLH?
No. WLH is a hub to course materials for university-level course materials only. Also, in general, only the author or owner of a course Web page may submit it to WLH. top
